Bishan Singh Bedi funeral: Angad Bedi and Neha Dhupia perform late father’s last rites, Sharmila Tagore, Virender Sehwag, Kapil Dev attend

Actor Angad Bedi’s father and former Indian Captain Bishan Singh Bedi passed away at the age of 77. He died on October 23 after battling a prolonged illness. Now, his funeral is taking place in the city where Neha and Angad both were seen performing their last rites. We just received some pictures where Neha and Angad were seen performing the funeral rituals. Several cricketers were also seen attending of legendary Indian spinner’s funeral. The funeral rituals of Bishan Singh Bedi are happening in Delhi’s Lodhi crematorium.

Cricketers like Kapil Dev, Virender Sehwag, Zaheer Khan, Mohd Azharuddin, Ashish Nehra and others were seen attending the funeral in Delhi. Even actor Sharmila Tagore was seen offering her last condolence to him and his family. In an ANI report, Kapil Dev called Bishan Singh Bedi ‘a great human being’ adding that he was his mentor. “We all have played cricket and we will all leave one day but very few people come with a character and those who have a character become successful. This is the biggest loss to Indian cricket but more than that he was a great human being. He was my captain, my mentor, my everything,” Kapil Dev told the reporters.

Angad Bedi and Neha Dhupia’s tribute post for Bishan Singh Bedi

Both Angad and Neha took to his Instagram and penned an emotional eulogy for their late father. “Isn’t it completely in dad’s character to bowl us over with the ultimate spin ball, one that even we never saw coming,” Angad wrote.

“While we are in shock and overcome with grief, we find solace in knowing that he lived a rich, fearless and full life that inspired many. We are moved by each and every message of love we have received publicly and personally.” “Thank you to everyone for celebrating his grit, humour and giant heart. It is heartwarming to see how many generations Dad inspired throughout his life. Every day of life was spent in devotion to his family and faith, and in service to his Waheguru. He epitomised living a life that was Nirbhau-Nirvair and we are comforted in knowing that he is with his beloved now.” Angad and Neha wrote in their tribute post.

Bishan Singh Bedi was seen in a cameo in R Balki’s Ghoomer where he played a retired cricketer. The movie stars his son Angad Bedi, Abhishek Bachchan and Saiyami Kher.
