Bobby Deol and Ranbir Kapoor left the audience swooning with their intense and gripping climax fight scene in Animal. The two actors fought it out till the end looking breathtaking shirtless in their chiselled physiques. And while the action was marvellous, seems like there was some love also woven into it, which eventually didn’t make it to the screens.
Bobby Deol on the proposed ‘kiss’ with Ranbir Kapoor in Animal fight scene
Talking about the climax fight scene in Animal, Bobby Deol told The Quint the idea behind it. He shared what director Sandeep Reddy Vanga told him before the scene. He said, “There are these two brothers, they want to kill each other, but there’s a love that they have for each other. I’m going to shoot the climax sequence with a song playing in the background, which is about love.”
Bobby then went on to reveal an interesting unknown detail about the scene. He revealed that Sandeep had planned a kiss initially between him and Ranbir during that all-intense fight. And while it didn’t make the theatre cut, it might release on OTT. The actor shared, “He (Sandeep) said, ‘You’re fighting, and you suddenly kiss him (Ranbir), and then you don’t give up, and he kills you’. But he removed the kiss. There was a kiss. I think it might come on the uncut Netflix version. After saying all this, he said, ‘You’re mute’.”
The film’s trailer ends with the scene where Bobby is lying on top of Ranbir’s body during the fight. The actor revealed that it was Sandeep’s concept to show the power of his character. However, he added, “Obviously, the hero always wins in the end. And the shot of me unzipping, it was his idea. He brings that alpha thing to every character.”

In an exclusive conversation with us, Bobby had shared how he used to get mesmerised by Ranbir’s eyes while shooting the fight scene. He had shared, “I think it’s just we look like brothers. We have something which is so (natural) and the chemistry we share, it comes across on the screen so well. And I think the song playing in the background, at one point people didn’t know who to sympathise with. That’s how the feeling comes. I used to get mesmerised looking in his eyes. He is such an amazing actor.“
