Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi recently had a special meet with Bollywood A-listers to honour the 150th birth anniversary of ‘Father of the Nation’ Mahatma Gandhi. On the occasion, Bollywood celebrities marked the event by promising PM Modi to take the ideals of Gandhi further ahead on a creative basis.

Present at the event were Bollywood celebs like Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Sonam Kapoor, Kangana Ranaut, Anand L Rai, Jackie Shroff, Sonu Nigam, and Ekta Kapoor among others. While addressing the members of the film industry PM Modi said that people in the entertainment industry have been doing great work to popularize the ideals of the great Mahatma Gandhi.

Rajkumar Hirani directed a video in which voices of some of the prominent stars of Bollywood have been used. The video features Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Sonam Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal and Kangana Ranaut.

In the video, the actors are seen saying popular quotes of the great Mahatma Gandhi. Aamir Khan speaks on ‘non-violence’, saying, “I am against violence as the solution it gives is temporary, but hatred remains forever“. Kangana on ‘belief’ says, “Keeping belief in one’s motive an able person can change the course of history“. Alia Bhatt spoke about Gandhi’s notion of ‘forgiveness’. “The weak cannot forgive, its the quality of the braver ones,” says Alia.

The video was shared on PM Modi’s Twitter handle. Sharing the video, he wrote, “The film fraternity comes together to pay tributes to Mahatma Gandhi! #ChangeWithin is an excellent effort, which will add momentum towards ensuring Gandhi Ji’s message reverberates far and wide. It will also inspire citizens to take up causes dear to Bapu.

We wish more movies on Gandhi will be made by our filmmakers to spread the awareness of his teachings worldwide.
