#9pm9minutes: Akshay Kumar, Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone and others light up candles and diyas

After the entire nation applauded the medical staff and essential service providers for their selfless work during the outbreak of COVID-19, Prime Miniter Narendra Modi had come up with another initiative on 5 April, Sunday. This time everyone was asked to light candles and diyas to dispel the darkness caused by the current situation. The entire nation came out to support the PM’s call and Bollywood celebs too came out to support this initiative.

PM Modi had requested the nation to give their 9 minutes on Sunday. He had asked the citizens to switch off the lights of their homes and come out in their balcony or doors and light up candles, diyas or even use the flashlights of their phones.

Across the nation, it was almost like a blackout at 9 pm yesterday and everyone came out in support as they lit up candles and diyas. Bollywood celebrities such as Akshay Kumar, Amitabh Bachchan, Katrina Kaif, Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh along with others did their bit too.
