On December 16, 2012, the news of the Delhi gang-rape case, now known as the Nirbhaya case, shocked and angered the entire nation. This was a case, that shook us all and even made us question our own humanity. But now, almost 6 years later justice has been served. Yesterday, the Supreme Court rejected the plea of reviewing the death sentence of Nirbhaya’s rapists and declared that there will be no change in the death sentence. This news came as a relief and like others, many Bollywood celebrities took to Twitter to applaud this verdict.

Nirbhaya’s mother, Asha Devi told ANI, “They were not juveniles. It is unfortunate that they committed such a crime. This decision reaffirms our trust in the court that we will definitely get justice.”
