Veteran lyricist Anwar Sagar passed away on Wednesday. A hospital source news agency told PTI that he was brought dead to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani hospital in the afternoon. He was 70. The cause of his death is not known yet.

Anwar wrote songs for the 80s and 90s films such as ‘Yaraana’, ‘Sapne Saajan Ke’, ‘Khiladi’, ‘Main Khiladi Tu Anari’, and ‘Vijaypath’ to name a few. His last work was in Mehul Kumar’s 2002 release, ‘Kitne Door Kitne Paas’ that starred Fardeen Khan and Amrita Arora.

This year has been a devastating year for the Bollywood industry as it has witnessed back-to-back deaths. In the month of April, amid the coronavirus lockdown, Irrfan Khan and Rishi Kapoor passed away. Then actor Mohit Baghel died of cancer. Lyricist Yogesh Gaur, singer-composer Wajid Khan passed away recently. Also, a few TV celebs committed suicide due to financial crisis.
