Bollywood stars congratulate Sania Mirza on US Open win

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan, Priyanka Chopra, Farhan Akhtar and Farah Khan, among others, have congratulated tennis player Sania Mirza, who along with her partner Martina Hingis won the women’s doubles US Open crown.

It was Sania and Hingis’ second Major title in a row, having won the Wimbledon championships earlier this season.

Sania now has five Grand Slam titles in her collection.

She won three Mixed Doubles trophies, the last one coming at this very venue with Bruno Soares in 2014.

Calling her win a joyous and proud moment, Bachchan wrote, “Sania Mirza & Hingis win Women’s Doubles US Open.

Farhan tweeted, “Congratulations to @MirzaSania and @mhingis on an awesome performance and for their victory.

Young star Varun Dhawan wrote, “Congratulations @MirzaSania from bringing home the title. #proud from Hyderabad.”

Filmmaker Farah Khan said, “Love to get news like this!! So happy! See you in Hyderabad baby.”

“Joy over joy. @MirzaSania and @mhingis win the doubles! You continue to swell our hearts with pride, Sania! Superb! #USOpen2015,” actor Rahul Bose tweeted.

Actress Genelia Deshmukh posted, “Congratulations @MirzaSania.. Love how your making winning a habit and making each Indian so proud of you.”
