Sabyasachi Mukherjee is a favourite designer amongst a lot of Bollywood actors. The designer was responsible for designing Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma’s outfits for their wedding. Despite his success and popularity, Sabyasachi has ruffled a lot of feathers with his latest statement.

In an interview with Architectural Digest, he said, “In fashion, you have to reinvent yourself every three to five years. You need to be fresh. Right now, I’ve become tired of gaunt faces and stick-thin models. I’m obsessed by boobs!”
Well certainly, this one will not go down well with feminists. And this is not the first time Sabyasachi has said something offensive.
Earlier, he shamed women who did not know how to wear a saree. “It’s a part of your culture, (you) need stand up for it,” he said in an authoritative tone while addressing students at Harvard University. The comment was met with a lot of criticism, as a lot of young women who did not know how to wear a saree did not like to be accused of being anti-national. One person accused Sabyasachi of not knowing how to make dhokla, while another said that women did not wear sarees because he was selling them for 80K.
All said and done, Sabyasachi seriously needs to check his words before he spews them out.
