Boman Irani on ‘Munna Bhai 3’: The movie has been shelved

Boman Irani was part of both the films of the ‘Munna Bhai’ franchise. He played Dr. Asthana in both the movies.  There were many reports that ‘Munna Bhai 3’ is underway, while some reports stated that the movie has been shelved. Well, in an interview with Dainik Bhaskar, Boman cleared everything related to the third installment of the franchise.

When he was asked about the development of the movie, Boman said, “I have no idea”. He then added, “People think that ‘Munna Bhai’ part 3 is still under production, but it’s not. The movie has been shelved. The story is written but it is not matching up to the makers’ vision. If they make an announcement and make an average film, they will earn money. But that’s not the idea. The idea is to make a good film so that people are not let down.”

Well, now as Boman Irani has cleared all the speculations, it is clear that ‘Munna Bhai 3’ is not happening further.

Earlier while interacting with the media, Sanjay Dutt who played Munna said, “I pray to God it happens soon but this should be asked from Mr. Raju Hirani (Raj Kumar Hirani) director of ‘Munna Bhai…’ series. I think he would be in a better position to answer this question. I am eagerly waiting to start shooting.”

Coming back to Boman Irani, he is currently gearing up for his upcoming movie ‘Made In China’ that has Rajkummar Rao and Mouni Roy. The movie is releasing on October 25 this year.
