Priya Prakash Varrier‘s debut Bollywood film ‘Sridevi Bungalow’ has not even released and it has already landed in trouble. The teaser of the film was unveiled yesterday and it has already raised quite a few eyebrows but for all the wrong reasons.
Yes, apart from the film’s title, the teaser showcases an uncanny resemblance to the late actress Sridevi’s death. In the teaser, we can see Priya playing a superstar who enjoys her life until one unfortunate incident changes everything. Now, as soon as the teaser was out, netizens started expressing their views on it. According to the latest reports, Boney Kapoor has sent a legal notice to the makers of ‘Sridevi Bungalow’.
The director of ‘Sridevi Bungalow’, Prasanth Mambully confirmed the news and told Cinestaan, “We received a legal notice from Mr Boney Kapoor last week. And we will face it. My film is a suspense thriller. I told him (Boney Kapoor) that Sridevi is a common name. My film’s character also happens to be an actress. We will face it (the legal case).”
At the trailer launch of the film, when Priya was asked if the film is based on the life of late actress Sridevi, she had said that it is up to the audience and they can perceive it the way they want it.
Now looks like the makers of ‘Sridevi Bungalow’ will have to prove that their film is not inspired by Sridevi’s life.
