Boney Kapoor on Shabana Azmi: She’s sedated but talking normally and recognising people

The entire nation was shocked when the news of actress Shabana Azmi’s accident came out. The internet had blown up with pictures of her accident and everyone was sending her speedy recovery wishes. The veteran actress’ car met with an accident on Saturday.

Shabana and husband Javed Akhar were passing through the Pune-Mumbai highway when their car rammed into a truck. While Javed escaped unhurt, Shabana was severely injured. The actress was shifted to Kokilaben Ambani Hospital from MGM hospital for further treatment.

Boney Kapoor, who visited Shabana recently, told Mumbai Mirror,  “According to doctors, there is nothing alarming. She’s sedated as there is some pain but everything is fine. Except Javed saab, Baba (Azmi, the actress’s brother) and Tanvi (Azmi, sister-in-law) nobody is allowed into the ICU.”

He added, “Shabanaji is coherent, talking normally, recognising people. For now, she is under observation and the doctors are making sure there is no internal injury and that potential dangers are ruled out. She is a fighter and will come out of it.”

The incident happened on 18 January. When the accident happened Shabana was first rushed to MGM Hospital in Navi Mumbai and later shifted to Kokilaben Ambani Hospital. Reportedly, the actress is out of danger but she is still under observation.

Well, we hope for the actress’ speedy recovery.
