Boney Kapoor shares a detailed account of what happened on the fateful evening of Sridevi’s demise

24th of February, 2018; a day that no one will ever forget. Our beloved Chandni, our graceful Sridevi drowned in a bathtub and breathed her last. Devastated and shocked, her fans could simply not digest this fact that Sridevi is no more with us, until her mortal remains were brought back to Mumbai. With the story of her demise, a lot of other speculations started doing the rounds as initially it was being reported that she died of a cardiac arrest. Boney Kapoor, who was there with her on that fateful evening, had not spoken up. But now the beavered Boney Kapoor has opened up and has shared an detailed account of what happened that night to trade analyst Komal Nahta.

Through a blog, Komal Nahta pens that Boney Kapoor lost his ‘Jaan’ on the evening of 24th of February as he saw Sridevi lying motionless, immersed in a bathtub filled with water. (Also Check: Aamir, Hrithik and more: Here’s why these B-Town celebs couldn’t attend Sridevi’s funeral)

Boney Kapoor had traveled to Dubai to surprise Sridevi and the couple was planning to head for a romantic dinner. Recalling his telephonic conversation with Sridevi that took place on 24th February, morning, Boney Kapoor shared, “when she told me, ‘Papa (that’s how she addressed Boney), I’m missing you.’ I also told her that I was missing her a lot. But I didn’t tell her that I would be joining her in Dubai in the evening. Janhvi had seconded my idea of going to Dubai because she was scared, her mom, not used to being alone, would misplace her passport or some important document if she was alone.” Soon after Boney Kapoor took a flight to Dubai to surprise the love of his life.

Following the plan to head for a dinner, Sridevi went to the bathroom to take a bath and get ready, and that was it. Those were her last minutes. An impatient Boney Kapoor called out to Sridevi twice from the living room where he was watching the TV, but as she didn’t answer, he headed to the bathroom to check on her. He received the biggest shock of his life as he witnessed Sridevi lying in the bathtub motionless.

Komal Nahta’s blog also reveals that Sridevi perhaps did not get a chance to save herself by moving her arms and legs in panic as there was no water spillage around the bathtub. This would be a mystery that will stay unresolved forever.
