Brahmastra: Did Hrithik Roshan reject a role in sequel of Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt starrer?

Hrithik Roshan has turned down an offer to play the lead character in the sequel of the Ayan Mukerji directorial Brahmastra. Previously, it was reported that Roshan was the second actor, after Deepika Padukone, who was approached to play a key role in Brahmastra 2. Reports suggested that Ayan Mukerji made a fleeting visit at Hrithik’s house and offered him a role in Brahmastra 2. As per reports, Hrithik Roshan was offered the character of MahaDev in Brahmastra 2.

However, according to a report in Bollywood Hungama, the Vikram Vedha actor has turned down the role. Hrithik has rejected the role, reportedly of MahaDev in Brahmastra 2. The report said that Roshan rejected the role due to a scheduling conflict. As per the report, the actor is already working on two high-on visual effect movies-Krrish 4 and Ramayana and felt that being a part of Brahmastra would mean too much of time investment.

According to the report, a source close to the development said, “Hrithik is already doing two high-on visual effects films – Krrish 4 and Ramayana. He felt, that doing Brahmastra 2 would mean too much of a time investment on another VFX-heavy film. This decade, he wants to do more films and he doesn’t want to end up spending the next 7 years on these 3 dream projects. He informed his thought to Ayan and Karan, and politely let go of the offer.”

Meanwhile, Hrithik is currently gearing up for the release of his movie Vikram Vedha. The actor had recently shared the trailer of Vikram Vedha co-starring Saif Ali Khan. Work-wise, Roshan has the movie Fighter with Deepika Padukone. He even has Krrish 4 and reportedly Ramayana in his kitty.

Talking about Brahmastra, the first part of the trilogy is scheduled to release in theatres on September 9. The movie features Amitabh Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Nagarjuna Akkineni, Mouni Roy in key roles. It also features Shah Rukh Khan in a cameo appearance. The sequel of the movie Brahmastra reportedly features Deepika Padukone in a key role. She will be seen playing the role of Parvathy.
