Brahmastra promotions: Ranbir Kapoor receives a grand welcome in Vishakhapatnam-WATCH

Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra, starring Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt in the lead has to be one of the longest running films in development in Bollywood. It was in 2017 that Karan Johar announced the supernatural film as a trilogy with Brahmastra Part One: Shiva being the name of the first one in it. Brahmastra sees Ranbir Kapoor playing a man named Shiva who can emit fire from the palm of his hand while Alia Bhatt plays his love interest Isha. After years of shooting and release delays, the film is now finally all set to get a release this year and seems like the promotions have already started on a big banging note.

It was on December 15 last year that a motion poster of Ranbir’s Shiva was released amidst much excitement, followed by Alia’s character motion poster on March 16, 2022. Ranbir and Alia got married after that in April and as a gift to the couple, director Ayan released a glimpse of the love song Kesariya from the film that has already become a fan favourite without even the full song’s release. A few days ago, filmmaker SS Rajamouli even launched the Telugu version of the song titled KumKumala. Now with the film release just a few months away, the team has started off with the grand promotional strategy and this morning, Ranbir, Ayan and Rajamouli headed to Vishakhapatnam.

As soon as the trio touched down in the city, they were welcomed with a roaring response from the crowd getting a rather grand and spectacular welcome, which included crane garlands and rose petals and in the video available online, one can see Ranbir feeling so humbled by the gesture.

The three men looked dapper in their traditional attire with Ranbir glowing in his white kurta pajama. And it wasn’t just the audience who loved Ranbir’s look of the day as even wifey Alia couldn’t hold back her excitement on seeing her husband look so dashing. She took to her Instagram stories to share a papped image of Ranbir from the Mumbai private airport and wrote, ‘Oh hi’ with a fire emoji. The official Instagram page of the film announced a few hours ago that the trio is there to make a special announcement regarding the film. Meanwhile, Brahmastra, also featuring Amitabh Bachchan, Mouni Roy and Nagarjuna, is all set to release theatrically on September 9, 2022.
