Former Indian actress and model Mamta Kulkarni has been in the news due to her alleged involvement in the Thane drug case. The actress, who had become an overnight sensation in Bollywood post her nude cover photo shoot, for a popular magazine was claimed by the police as the prime accused in the drug racket linked to drug baron Vicky Goswami. The police also claimed that she was actively involved in the illicit activities.
Recently, a special NDPS court has ordered attachment of properties of the former actress. Mamta Kulkarni owns three plush flats in various areas of Mumbai. Kulkarni and Goswami were declared as the mastermind of the racket. Ephedrine, is a controlled drug and was allegedly being diverted to Kenya -based drug cartel headed by Goswami.
