Breaking – Katrina Kaif is Ranveer Singh’s Mastani in ‘Bajirao Mastani’

Filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali has at last found his Mastani for his magnum opus ‘Bajirao Mastani’. He has signed the gorgeous Katrina Kaif to play the title role in his periodic love story. Ranveer Singh has already been signed for the title role of Bajirao and has also agreed to go bald for it.

As per sources, Bhansali was eager to sign Deepika Padukone for the role of Mastani but as she had been signed up for Karan Johar’s ‘Shuddhi’, so could not allot dates for Bhansali. Priyanka Chopra has already been signed to play the role of Kashibai, Bajirao’s wife. With the star cast in place looks like Bhansali’s project is all set to roll.

“Bajirao Mastani” is based on the love story of the Maratha general Peshwa Bajirao and his Muslim-origin wife Mastani, who faced the wrath of the society on their inter-religion marriage, which is said to have led to a crisis within the royal family.
