Bollywood superstar and Kolkata Knight Rider’s owner Shah Rukh Khan, had been slapped a five year ban by the Mumbai Cricket Association from entering Wankhede Stadium. SRK was involved in a scuffle with a security guard at the ground after the KKR-MI game on May 16, 2012. Following the ban, whenever KKR play in Mumbai, SRK visits the team hotel to wish his team luck. Now if everything goes well we might see the Baadshah at the Wankhede once again.

As per sources, the IPL governing council has responded to MCA’s protest letter, which asked them why the tournament final was shifted from the Wankhede to Bangalore. The GC has also desired that the MCA accommodate every IPL franchise at the Wankhede. “Essentially it implies that we have to withdraw the ban on Shah Rukh Khan. We may be left with no choice but agree.”
Although the MCA hasn’t replied to the GC, it appears that the association will relent in the interests of hosing the IPL final at the Wankhede. Don’t be surprised if Shah Rukh is seen at the Wankhede again this season, donning KKR’s purple and gold jersey, and egging his team on with his trademark nervous energy, especially if Kolkata reach the IPL final.
