Bulbbul actor Parambrata Chattopadhyay & Piya Chakraborty announce pregnancy with Valentine’s Day post; shares, “Our bubble of love is growing” – See pics

Bengali actor Parambrata Chattopadhyay and his wife, Piya Chakraborty, a mental health activist and singer, are expecting their first child. The couple shared the happy news on Valentine’s Day via a social media post.

The post included photos of the couple, their pets, and a sign announcing “Baby on the way.” They wrote, “A bit late to the Valentine’s party… We were busy with this:
1. This is us
2. This is our eldest, Nina
3. Then last year came Bagha
4. Our bubble of love is growing: a human being will be joining the tribe soon! #2025 #babycomingsoon”

The announcement received an outpouring of congratulatory messages, including one from actress Mouni Roy. Parambrata Chattopadhyay and Piya Chakraborty married in a private ceremony on November 27, 2023, at Parambrata’s Kolkata home. The ceremony was attended by close friends and family and was a simple legal wedding. Sharing wedding photos, Parambrata quoted T.S. Eliot, writing: “Let us go then, you and I, when the evening is spread out against the sky.” He added, “This is it.”

He made his Hindi debut in Kahaani (2012), starring along with Vidya Balan. Chatterjee also acted in Bhalo Theko (2003), which is Vidya Balan’s debut film. He has a very good knowledge of world music and has sung for a few Bengali films like Chaya Manush and Samantaral.

Chatterjee has acted in many television series, telefilms, short films and films. His directorial debut feature film is Jiyo Kaka (2011) starring Rituparna Sengupta and Rudranil Ghosh. His second directorial venture was Hawa Bodol (2013). Seven months after the success of Kahaani, he was signed by Jeffrey D. Brown, who won an Academy Award for his debut short film in 1986, for his film Sold.
