pahlaj nihalani, baywatch

If you’ve seen the trailer of Priyanka Chopra‘s Hollywood debut movie ‘Baywatch’, then you would have surely seen babes in bikini and remember PeeCee’s words at the Miami premiere? She had said, “I did try to go a little method in my walk and in my talk. I am happy to be here. ‘Baywatch’ is great summer fun. By the way, don’t take your kids.” So yes, we do sense that since the movie is not for kids, the CBFC is going to be really strict in certifying the movie for the Indian audiences. And as expected, reports started doing the rounds that CBFC has been facing a tough time certifying the movie.

A leading daily has quoted a source as saying, “It is a duvidha, a dharm sankat that beats all recent dilemmas. How do we grade the bikini festival in ‘Baywatch’? Guidelines clearly indicate that unnecessary nudity must be curbed. A lot of the ‘Baywatch’ fans are under-age kids. In our films a big deal is made of bikini shots. Blame the producers for making the bikini look like a phenomenal happening.” (Also Read: Aww! Priyanka Chopra receives a surprise kiss from ‘Baywatch’ co-star Dwayne Johnson)

Now, CBFC Chief, Pahlaj Nihalani has reacted to these reports. He says, “How can we say or comment anything without watching the film. We have not watched the film yet and after watching the content, we will just give our decision to the filmmakers. We do not react before watching the film. I don’t know about the reports. These are just speculations. We have cleared around 30 to 35 promos for marketing and gave them ‘UA’. We can’t say anything before watching it.” The movie is helmed by Seth Gordon and will be releasing on May 25, 2017 worldwide, whereas in India, it will be releasing on June 2, 2017.
