While Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal’ gains limelight for facing trouble with the CBFC, the makers of Sridevi‘s upcoming film ‘MOM’ have a reason to rejoice. As per reports, the Central Board of Film Certification has granted U/A certificate to ‘MOM’. Apparently the authorities are highly impressed with Sridevi’s performance, and they have compared her character to that of Nargis’ from ‘Mother India.’
“Srideviji’s performance in ‘MOM’ has the same impact as Nargisji in ‘Mother India’. They both define motherhood and the ingrained sacrifices that a mother makes for a child. I’d go as far as to say Mom is the contemporary ‘Mother India’. There will not be one dry eye in the theatres when the film opens”, said Pahlaj Nihalani to a daily.
That surely is a big compliment coming from someone who is extremely critical about films. (Also Read: ‘Mr. India 2’ is definitely on, confirms Sridevi)
The film that also stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Akshaye Khanna in pivotal roles is directed by Ravi Udyawar and will make it to the theatres on July 7.
