Actor Aamir Khan stated that Censor Board has turned ‘a little aggressive’, following the ‘Sanskari Bond’ debate, where Pahalaj Nihalan, the Chief of Central Board of Film Certification ordered the makers of “Spectre” to reduce James Bond’s kissing scene. Aamir said he found this move “worrying”.
If a film is certified adult then you should be able to show pretty much everything because an adult can decide if he or she wants to watch the film. There is no censorship required after certification. That’s our understanding of certification.”-he said.
Kissing scenes existed even when the serial kisser didn’t turn up. The 1996 film ‘Raja Hindustani’ starring Aamir Khan and Karishma Kapoor has one of the longest kissing sequences in Bollywood; Aamir jokingly said he feels lucky that it wasn’t censored.
“I don’t have personal experience with censor board of late because none of my films have come up for censorship but what I have heard being reported is that it is behaving in a slightly alarming way,”- he stated.
