‘Chak De! India’ director Shimit Amin to direct Ranveer Singh

Filmmaker Shimit Amin, who was in a long hiatus after directing ‘Chak de! India’ and ‘Rocket Singh: Salesman of the year’, is making a directorial comeback in Bollywood. Reports suggest that he has chosen Ranveer Singh to feature in the film.

“Ranveer is on a movie signing spree. This is the third project that he has signed this year after Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Padmavati’ and Zoya Akhtar’s ‘Gully Boy’. The shooting for Amin’s next is expected to begin as soon as he completes Zoya’s film.” a source close to Ranveer told a daily.

Ranveer seems to be the favourite comeback vehicle for many. Earlier, YRF honcho Aditya Chopra decided to cast him when he donned the hat of a director for ‘Befikre’, after seven long years. Filmmaker Shaad Ali also banked upon his comeback film ‘Kill Dil’.

Although, YRF has not confirmed the same yet. “[We are] Not in a position to confirm or comment at the moment.” a YRF spokesperson told the same daily.

We would, however, want this to be true!
