Chand Nawab requests Salman Khan to compensate him

Salman Khan’s ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ has set the Box Office collections ringing non stop. Not only Salman Khan and Harshaali Malhotra even Nawazuddin Siddiqui is gaining appreciation for his portrayal of a Pakistani journalist.

Nawazauddin Siddiqui’s character in ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ is based upon a real life journalist of Pakistan Chand Nawab. Chand Nawab gained fame after reports started emerging last week that it was his old viral video that was the inspiration for Siddiqui’s character.

Chand Nawab has made an appeal to Salman Khan, “I am a poor journalist and don’t want to deal with the legalities, but I expect Khan to give me a compensation for using me as an inspiration for a character. This is about Pakistan’s respect, my intention is not to mint money, it’s simply a request. Maybe this could be a beginning of a filmy career.”

Chand Nawab’s video was uploaded on Youtube on 8 December 2008 and films the journalist struggling to conclude his news report as passer-bys kept on interrupting him. Though the video went viral, it also shortened his career in journalism.
