Akshay Kumar‘s next venture ‘Airlift’ has quite an impressive storyline and yes, an impressive star cast too. The trailer and poster revealed Akshay Kumar and Nimrit Kaur in the leading role. The character of Purab Kohli who plays a pivotal role in ‘Airlift’ was kept much under the wraps till now. But the makers have finally exposed Mr. Kohli’s character to the audience and just like Akshay and Nimrat’s look, Purab’s too is a crackling one.
The First look of Purab Kohli’s character in ‘Airlift’ recently hit the internet, wherein we can see Purab in a very rugged look. With a huge beard and a shirt with rolled-up sleeves, his character seems to be an intimidating one. This is probably the first time that we will get to see the intense and daunting side of Purab. At least, by the looks of it, it seems so! According to the reports, Purab would be seen playing the role of an Indian named Ibrahim Durani who works in middle-east to earn his living. Now, whether Ibrahim aka Purab is amongst those Indian’s who were stuck in Kuwait during the Iraq-Kuwait or there’s some other twist revolving around Purab, is yet unknown.
Talking about his role, Purab said, “The character I play is Ibrahim Durani and unlike most of the parts I’m associated with, Ibrahim comes from small town in India and works in the Middle East also the film is set in the 90’s so the characters are styled to that time. I had to hound Raja, my director to cast me. I had heard about the part and liked it and though he was confident about me being able to act out the part he thought I looked too urban for it. I went and met him after getting a very unstylish sort of haircut and sporting a heavy beard after a few weeks he finally saw Ibrahim in me.”
Airlift is slated to release on January 22, 2016.
