Chunky Panday is a chill father; reacts to reports of daughter Ananya Panday dating Aditya Roy Kapur: She is free to do what she wants

Ananya Panday and Aditya Roy Kapur are the latest IT couple in Bollywood. The lovebirds are often seen holidaying and partying together at Bollywood parties. Aditya also attended  Panday’s cousin Alanna Panday’s baby shower wherein only close family and friends were invited. While the couple is still to address their relationship publicly, their date outings and vacations together have made headlines every now and again. 

Chunky Panday on Ananya Panday’s relationship with Aditya Roy Kapur

During a recent interview with Lehre Retro, Ananya Panday’s father, actor Chunky Panday was quizzed about his daughter’s relationship with Aditya Roy Kapur and her mentioning him in her interviews. To this, Chunky replied, “I mean it’s fine. I think she is 25, she is earning more money than I did. She is free to do what she wants. How dare I tell my 25-year-old daughter what to do.”

Previously, in an interview with Bollywood Bubble, the ‘Housefull’ actor had accepted that relationships are part and parcel of being an actor. He said, “Nahi nahi… wo toh hone wala hai (no no, this is bound to happen). They say na you live by the soul, you die by the soul. We are in the glamour profession, ye sab hone wala hai (and all this is bound to happen). This is collateral damage, hone wala hai (will be there). You can’t prevent it.”

Further throughout the interview Chunky also heaped praises on the Gehraiyaan actress saying, “The proudest moment was when she got her first film, and she decided to do it. I think they found her a little very young the first time, then she went for the audition and she got the film. She also got into New York and LA colleges, there was pressure on family. I kept her college admission for 6 months, I paid some $500 dollars and kept it, because who knows, it might not have worked out. So that was a proud moment, she got that film on her own.”

When asked whether he is comfortable with Ananya doing intimate scenes, he answered, “Yes I am fine with it. I have seen it in Hollywood. There is no harm. You have to accept it.”

Ananya Panday upcoming projects

On the work front, Ananya Panday will be seen next in a series titled ‘Call Me Bae’ on Amazon Prime Video. She is also rumoured to be starring in Control and Shankara.
