Veteran actor Sunil Shende breathed his last at his Vila Parle residence in Mumbai on Monday (November 14). He was in his 70s. The cause of his demise is not known yet. The noted actor featured in several movies and TV shows including Shah Rukh Khan’s Circus, Mandira Bedi starrer Shanti and Aamir Khan’s Sarfarosh among others. Film and music critic Pavan Jha told PTI, “He died at his residence in Vile Parle at 1 am last night and his body was cremated this afternoon at the Hindu crematorium in Parshiwada”.
Shende played supporting characters in movies like Gandhi, Ghayaal, Ziddi, Khal Nayak, Daud, Magan, and Viruddh among others. He was seen in the role of a police officer in Aamir Khan starrer Sarfarosh, and played a politician in Rohit Shetty’s Zameen, starring Ajay Devgn and Abhishek Bachchan.
CINTAA expressed its heartfelt condolences on Shende’s death.

Delhi Crime actor Rajesh Tailang paid a tribute to Sunil Shende on Twitter and remembered working with him on the TV show Shanti. “Great actor and and a great human being …Shri Sunil Shende is no more.I was fortunate enough to get a chance to work with him in the serial Shanti, I played his son. Babuji saadar shraddhanjali,” wrote Tailang.
