There are several Bollywood celebrities who never shy away from expressing views on any cultural or social issue. The Citizen Amendment Bill (CAB) has been grabbing headlines since the past few days for all the wrong reasons.
Several B-town celebs have come forward and expressed their views on this controversial bill. The Bill proposes to provide Indian nationality to Hindus, Christians, Sikhs, Parsis, Jains and Buddhists who fleed persecution in Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh. One of the main reasons why the Bill is being debated and criticized is because it doesn’t include Muslims.
Actresses like Richa Chadha, Swara Bhasker, Sayani Gupta and others took to their Twitter handle and slammed CAB. Take a look at what these celebs have to say about CAB.
Richa Chadha
Am no expert, but #CAB, #NRC sounds like an expensive and corrosive plan… it’s like the 160 people that died in ATM lines during the demonetisation were signalling the death of the economy as well. So the taxpayer will bear the brunt of this hubris ?

Swara Bhasker
“(In India..) Religion is not basis of citizenship. Religion cannot be the basis of discrimination. And the state cannot take decisions based on religion. CAB pointedly excludes Muslims..” – in NRC/CAB project Jinnah is reborn! Hello Hindu Pakistan! ?? ?? https://t.co/aVkmolFx2L
