Cinema Owners and Exhibitors Association of India (COEAI) had earlier decided that they won’t allow any single screen to showcase a film starring Pakistani actors. This decision’s immediate effect happened on Karan Johar’s ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’. Few days ago, MNS chief, Raj Thackeray, agreed to release ‘ADHM’ without any issue. But, the problems for the movie have still not ended.
COEAI has not yet decided whether they will allow the film to release in single screens or not. Nitin Datar, the president of the committee said that the settlement happened between the government, MNS and the producers. They were not called for the meeting.
He further stated that there are around 450 members registered with COEAI across Maharashtra, Gujarat, Goa and parts of Karnataka. From these, 80 single screens in Mumbai won’t showcase any film featuring Pakistani artistes. They will organize the meeting to discuss their further action.

However, the trade analysts say that the movie is a multiplex film, and if it doesn’t release in single screens it won’t affect the collection.
