The trailer of Aanand L Rai’s ‘Zero’ featuring Shah Rukh Khan, Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif that was unveiled on SRK’s birthday garnered lots of praises. However, even before the film’s release, it has landed in trouble. Yes, you read that right.
Manjinder Singh Sirsa, the General Secretary of Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee (DSGMC) has filed a complaint against Shah Rukh Khan and the producers of the film, as one of the scenes in the trailer showed the actor wearing Kirpan.
Manjinder took to Twitter to share a letter that he wrote to the makers of the film to withdraw the objectionable scenes. His post read, “I have written a letter to actor of @Zero21Dec @iamsrk & director @aanandlrai to withdraw the objectionable scene and poster showing Kirpaan as ordinary dagger Filed a complaint as well as this promotion hurts Sikh sentiments”

In one of the scenes in the trailer Shah Rukh is apparently wearing a ‘Gatra Kirpan’, but according to the Sikh customs only Amritdhari Sikh person can wear Gatra Kirpan, so now this has led to an outrage amongst the Sikh community.
Apart from writing a letter to the makers of ‘Zero’, Manjinder Singh Sirsa has also filed a complaint after he received complaints from several people citing objection over that particular scene in the trailer.
We wonder what Shah Rukh Khan and his ‘Zero’ team have to say about this complaint now.
