Actress Kangana Ranaut is one name that has impressed us and many moviegoers over the years with her brilliant performances in films like ‘Gangster’, ‘Queen’, ‘Tanu Weds Manu’, etc. The talented performer who has won the prestigious National Film Award three times in her career so far is all set to make her debut as a director. The actress has confirmed that she will start her directorial debut project after wrapping up ‘Manikarnika – The Queen of Jhansi’ and it will be a comedy film.
Recently, Kangana had made her way to Varanasi where she performed the holy rituals and unveiled the poster of her upcoming film ‘Manikarnika – The Queen of Jhansi’, a biopic on late warrior Rani Lakshmibai. While talking to the reporters during this event, Kangana spoke about her next step which is donning a director’s hat. She said, “Now I feel I don’t want to just waste time on this (going in a loop). I am also moving on to the next phase, which means that I will focus on my career as a filmmaker and I’ll act in my films. So, I was telling Krish (director of ‘Manikarnika’) that you’re the last director I’m working with.” [sic]
“After Manikarnika, I’m directing my film. It’s going to be a comedy,” added the actress.
Kangana Ranaut’s next film for release is director Hansal Mehta’s ‘Simran’ wherein she will also be credited as one of the writers of the movie.
Talking about films, ‘Simran’ is slated to release in 2017, whereas ‘Manikarnika – The Queen of Jhansi’ is slated to release on April 27, 2018.
