Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum-opus ‘Padmavati’ starring Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor finally received a green signal from the CBFC. After all the hullabaloo, CBFC asked the makers to change the name of the film to ‘Padmavat’ and have suggested a few alterations too. With this, we were waiting for the official new release date of the film. And here we have the confirmation.
Sources from the production house Viacom 18 have confirmed to us that the film would be releasing on January 25. This means that the film would be clashing with Akshay Kumar’s ‘PadMan’. (Also Read: BREAKING: Confirmed! ‘PadMan’ and ‘Padmavati’ all set for a Republic Week release)
Earlier, ‘PadMan’ was supposed to release on January 26, but later, the release date got pre-poned to January 25. With a tweet, Akshay had made the announcement of the change in the release date.

This move could be to avoid clash with ‘Padmavat’ as earlier, rumours had it that ‘Padmavati’ would release on January 26, but now, it’s quite clear that both the films would be locking horns at the box office on January 25.
Let’s wait and watch, which film manages to gain mileage at the box office.
