There have been numerous speculations related to the casting of ‘Race 3’. Salman Khan and Jacqueline Fernandez were the two names being speculated to star in the film for quite some time now. However, there was no official confirmation on the same. But today producer Ramesh Taurani has confirmed that this ‘Kick’ duo has been signed for this film and it is all set to go on floors in October this year.
Mumbai Mirror has quoted Ramesh Taurani as saying, “As of now, Salman and Jacqueline have been finalised for the lead while Remo D’Souza is directing it. We are yet to lock the rest of the cast and crew. We start shooting on a set in Mumbai in October, followed by a long international schedule. We are currently figuring out the dates and foreign locations. The story is set abroad and will be completely different instead of taking off from the previous two films.” (Also Read: Katrina seeks Salman’s help in rejuvenating sister Isabelle’s acting career?)
A source has been quoted by Mumbai Mirror, “The plan is to rework the original title track with the new leads grooving to it.”
With this confirmation from the producer, it can be clearly said that Saif Ali Khan wouldn’t be a part of this popular franchise anymore. Plus, the director duo Abbas-Mustan, who helmed the first two films is also not a part of this instalment which will be now directed by Remo D’Souza. But as Ramesh Taurani has stated, this film will have a different story and would have no link to the previous two films, it would be quite interesting to see Salman and Jacqueline in a fast-paced action thriller.
Currently, Salman Khan is in Abu Dhabi shooting for his next release ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’. While, Jacqueline Fernandez is gearing up for the promotions of her upcoming release ‘Judwaa 2’ co-starring Varun Dhawan and Taapsee Pannu.
