EXCLUSIVE: Shah Rukh Khan to return as ‘DON’ in 2020!

Shah Rukh Khan is eagerly awaiting his next release ‘Zero’ starring Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif. The film is slated to hit the screens this week. And now, Bollywood Bubble has got an exclusive scoop that SRK will be returning to the ‘Don’ franchise with ‘Don 3’.

Years back, when Shah Rukh Khan was all set to reprise Amitabh Bachchan’s role in ‘Don’, many eyebrows were raised. But once the film released, Farhan Akhtar and King Khan not only received tremendous applause but also had a franchise in place. Then, ‘Don 2’ happened in 2012 and the wait for the third part has lingered on, ever since.

But putting an end to everyone’s wait and desire, the team has finally decided to kickstart pre-production work on the film’s third part. A source reveals, “Excel Entertainment’s next project will indeed be ‘Don 3’. They have already got the idea worked out and the team is getting a proper script in place. SRK will return as ‘Don’ and he has liked the basic concept.”

The ‘Zero’ actor will begin ‘Saare Jahaan Se Achcha’ – the biopic on Rakesh Sharma – around February next year and Don 3 will roll out right after that. “They are set for a date in the later half of 2019 to start filming. The lead cast will be altered and they are deciding on a heroine first,” the source said. A big announcement can be expected in the new year.
