Coronavirus Effect: Ali Fazal-Richa Chadha officially postpone their wedding due to the global pandemic

Ali Fazal and Richa Chadha have been dating for a really long time now. The couple has been very open about their love life ever since they decided to come out in the open. They were all set to tie the knot in April, however, now the wedding has been postponed due to the global Coronavirus pandemic.

In an official statement released by the couple, the news of the postponement is clearly mentioned. Here’s what Ali and Richa have to say:

Given the current scenario and the unfortunate turn of events owing to the COVID-19 pandemic globally, Ali Fazal and Richa Chadha have decided to postpone their wedding functions to the latter half of 2020 tentatively. They wish for everyone to be healthy and safe and at no cost would want their friends, families, and well-wishers to be affected.

It was just a few weeks back that the happy couple had opened up about the wedding news in an official statement. Ali and Richa had then said:

Currently, only the date for the registration has been taken. By process, the window that is valid is for 3 months from the date that has been allotted. The couple is working towards an official registration in the last week of April post which the celebrations will follow. All we can say at the moment is that it’s a happy occasion and all the parties involved are elated.

During a recent interview with Bollywood Bubble, Richa Chadha had said that she got a lot pissed when people would continue to ask her when she is getting hitched to Ali Fazal. Have a look at the video right here:

It’s not only Ali and Richa whose wedding has been postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak. Reports from inside Bollywood suggest that Varun Dhawan and Natasha Dalal were also going to get hitched this year, but due to the global pandemic, their union in holy matrimony has been also pushed to 2021. However, there is no official confirmation on the same yet from either of the families.
