‘Daddy’ not to release until Arun Gawli watches it

Arjun Rampal is having a good time at the professional front. ‘Kahaani 2’ wherein he stars alongside Vidya Balan is garnering positive reviews from all corners, which is enough to let go of the failure of ‘Rock On 2’. However, the real impressive stuff is the teaser of his upcoming release ‘Daddy’. A biopic on gangster-turned-politicial Arun Gawli, ‘Daddy’ features Arjun Rampal essaying the titular role.

Not surprisingly, Mumbaikars are excited to see the story of the Byculla man on the big screen. However, Gawli’s daughter Geeta says the film won’t release until he himself has watched it.

“We are planning to show it to him. Until then, it won’t release. Maybe we will screen it for him when he is out on parole. I will talk to Arjun about it,” she told a leading daily.

However, Gawli’s family is against the film containing any objectionable content. “We will request the filmmaker to edit it. We don’t want trouble. Arjun Rampal has understood my father’s life very well; he has worked hard as you can see from the teaser,” Geeta adds.
