There were reports that Geeta Phogat’s real life coach PR Sondhi, was upset with Aamir Khan and the makers of ‘Dangal’ for showcasing his character in a negative way. It was said that he is planning to take a legal action against the makers and the actor. However, recently while talking to a news agency, Sondhi cleared that he won’t be taking a legal action.
He said, “Mai ek baar Aamir Khan ko kehna chahunga ki unhe coach se baat karni chahiye role dikhane se pehle. Action lene ka koi irada nahi (I wish to tell Aamir Khan that he should talk to the coach before showing the character. I don’t wish to take any (legal) action (against him).”

Earlier while talking to a sports based web portal, Sondhi had said, “It made it spicy but didn’t really convey anything of what actually happened. Everything was amicable, but distorting of facts just hurts my reputation. (My work was) something which saw me becoming national wrestling coach. I will watch the film and take a call whether to take some serious legal action.”
“For the past two decades, I have been in the national set-up, working with the Government of India and Wrestling Federation of India. I met Aamir Khan in Ludhiana regarding the film, and he didn’t discuss the final sequence at all. If inputs were taken from me, then why create such fictional events about me? Mahavir never interfered with the coach’s work during tournaments,” he added.
While these controversies surrounding the film are going on, the Aamir Khan-starrer is raking in the moolah at the box office.
