“Dark is beautiful campaign” against Shahrukh Khan outside his office

Not long ago a petition was filed against Shahrukh Khan for promoting fairness in India via fairness creams. The ad potrayed that if a person is fair he is considered handsome and hence will be successful in life. According to the petition Shahrukh Khan being a public figure he shouldn’t be supporting featuring in such ads.

A campaign called ‘Dark is beautiful’ to protest against the same will start from the 16th of November outside Shahrukh’s Red Chillies office.

Kavita Manuel, the founder of Women of Worth NGO, will be carrying forward the campaign against Shahrukh Khan.  “He is a public figure and he should not to such kind of advertisements. We will request Shahrukh to discontinue such promotions and pull back from his prior adverts. We will start the campaign on Novemeber 16, and will go to the Red Chillies Office and Emami office against the fair and handsome cream advertisment,” says Kavitha.

Shahrukh Khan is not the only actor to have featured in fairness cream adverts, there are many more Bollywood actors like Hrithik Roshan, Aishawarya Rai, Shahid Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor to name a few who have done that. Then why is it that only Shahrukh is targeted?
