David Dhawan: Varun Dhawan can never replace Salman Khan

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has been replaced by newbie Varun Dhawan, this news sent waves of shock around Bollywood circles. Salman Khan who had been signed up by Karan Johar for his magnum opus Shuddhi, is not a part of the project anymore. The news was revealed by Karan Johar on Twitter that he has signed up Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt for ‘Shuddhi’.

“Shuddhi” first went to Hrithik Roshan, Kareena Kapoor and Salman Khan before Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt came on board. Salman Khan had tweeted his approval on Varun being signed up for ‘Shuddhi’.

Varun Dhawan’s father David Dhawan says his son can never be a substitute to Salman Khan, who was earlier supposed to play the lead role. David said, “He can never replace Salman. He is a great actor and a very big star. Varun is like his younger brother and that’s why he tweeted also. Salman loves him.”

David Dhawan is a good friend of Salman Khan and has worked with the actor in “Partner”.
