For the uninitiated, ‘Cocktail’ was a love triangle featuring Saif Ali Khan, Diana Penty and Deepika Padukone. Speaking about her role in the film, Deepika Padukone told BollySpice, “It was the emotional journey Veronica went through and I went through with that character. (Laughs) I got attached to the character very early on in the film and even Homi says that there was a point after a few days of working with each other, he stopped directing me. He had to give me no direction and he believes that only happens when the actor and director are on the same page. I think, it was an emotional roller-coaster for me and that is why it took me so long to get out of it.”
