Deepika Padukone is currently shooting for acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal’s story ‘Chhapaak’. To keep her company on the sets, sister Anisha Padukone too was present.

Deepika Padukone took a sabbatical after ‘Padmaavat’. Speaking about ‘Chhapaak’, she said in an interview with India Today, “Meghna (Gulzar) walked into the office and took me through the story. In five minutes of speaking with her, I knew in my heart that this is what I wanted to do next. Something about Meghna herself, Laxmi’s story and Meghna’s conviction in this film… It was very similar to Piku. In just five minutes of meeting the director, I knew that this is the film I wanted to do.”

Last year, Deepika got married to long time beau Ranveer Singh. The venue of the two weddings (according to Konkani and Anand Karaj rituals) was the scenic Lake Como in Italy. It was a lavish wedding. In an interview with GQ, she revealed why she loved Ranveer Singh so much. She said, “I think you just know when you want to spend the rest of your life with that one person – and he’s everything rolled into one man. He’s my best friend, playmate, companion and confidant. I can be silly in front of him, I can be stupid in front of him, I can be sick in front of him, I can be whatever I want to be.”
