’83’: Deepika Padukone’s first look as Romi Dev is out and we just can’t get over the ‘authentic resemblance’

Deepika Padukone is one of the most talented actresses in Bollywood and her chemistry with her husband Ranveer Singh is one of the best things to watch onscreen.  The two were last seen in ‘Padmaavat’ and now they are set to be back on the silver screen with Kabir Khan’s ’83’. Ranveer had earlier broken the internet with his first look as Kapil Dev from this sports drama and now Deepika has set the internet on fire as her first look as Romi Dev was unveiled.

Deepika took to her Instagram to share her first look from ’83’ as Kapil Dev’s wife Romi Dev and the uncanny resemblance is completely on point. In the picture, we can see Ranveer and Deepika staring at each other. The chemistry between them is spot on.

Deepika had a rather emotional caption, as she wrote, “To be able to play a small part in a film that captures one of the most iconic moments in sporting history has been an absolute honour. I’ve seen very closely the role a wife plays in the success of her husband’s professional and personal aspirations in my mother and 83 for me in many ways is an ode to every woman who puts her husband’s dream before her own…#thisis83.”

Talking about ’83’, the movie is based on former Indian Cricket team captain Kapil Dev and the 1983 World Cup win of the Indian Cricket team. Apart from Ranveer and Deepika the movie also stars Harrdy Sandhu, Saqib Saleem, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Ammy Virk, Jatin Sarna, and Chirag Patil. Besides Hindi, the movie will also be releasing in Tamil and Telugu. ’83’ will hit the silver screens on April 10 this year.
