‘Deepika Padukone is the biggest superstar,’ says Prabhas as he raves about his Kalki 2898 AD co-star

Deepika Padukone is all set to go back to the South market after a long time with her next Kalki 2898 AD with Prabhas. The sci fi thriller has already been ta1lk of the town because of its genre and star cast. The Kalki 2898 AD teaser that was released last month, added to that. While the audience is excited to see Prabhas and Deepika come together for the first time on screen, the South actor himself is as excited.

Prabhas on Deepika Padukone

In a recent interaction with Screen Rant, Prabhas was asked about his experience of working with Deepika. The actor was all praise for his co-star, including her beauty as well as her stardom. He said, “She’s the biggest superstar, the most beautiful lady, and she’s already famous globally. I think she’s doing Louis Vuitton, TAM AdEX, and the biggest international commercials. So, she’s just vibrant when she comes into the set, and I always loved her. I wanted to work with her, this is the first time I’m working with her, so yeah.”

Director Nag Ashwin also resonated with the feeling, and discussed casting Deepika in the film. He said, “We still have to see Deepika’s character fully, and then we will probably understand the reason why we cast her. Because it is an important character.”

Kalki 2898 AD at Comic-Con

The Prabhas and Deepika starrer also features Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan and Disha Patani in pivotal roles. The leading man, along with Haasan and his director had gone to San Diego Comic-Con last month to unveil the first glimpse from the film. Deepika had given the event a miss in solidarity with the SAG-AFTRA strike in Hollywood.

While the first character poster of Prabhas did receive criticism from the audience, the teaser made up for it. The intriguing dystopian setting and the VFX seems top notch. Kalki 2898 AD has a release date of January 12, 2024.
