Deepika Padukone in ‘Masaan’ director Neeraj Ghaywan’s next?

Deepika Padukone the undisputed queen of box office has become quite selective after the super duper success of ‘Padmaavat’. She is finely going through the scripts that are being offered to her and zeroing on the ones that have some matter in it.

The actress is rumored to have selected a south remake that had the late actress Sridevi in the leading role. Also in the pipeline is India’s first super heroine franchise that is modeled on the lines of Gal Gadot starrer ‘Wonder Woman’. Deepika will be undergoing intense martial arts training for the superheroine drama that will go on floors next year.

And it is now being reported that the ‘Piku’ star might soon collaborate with ‘Masaan’ director Neeraj Ghaywan’ for his next.

As per sources, “Neeraj and Deepika had been in talks for quite some time. The ‘Masaan’ director was busy finishing the script’s first draft. Once he got it in place, he approached Dippy again, who liked the story.”

Sources added, “Discussions are still in the initial stage. DP will play the protagonist in the woman-centric drama. If Deepika gives her final nod to Neeraj’s movie, it will go on floors mid-next year, after Vishal’s project.”

Meanwhile, rumors of Deepika and Ranveer’s impending marriage has gained strength, The date is apparently set for November or December this year. She will start work on her next project post her wedding.

Rumors abound that Ranveer and Deepika might tie the knot in Italy in the presence of family and friends. At present Ranveer is busy shooting for Rohit Shetty’s ‘Simmba’. The action dhamaka also stars Sara Ali Khan in pivotal roles.
