Deepika Padukone opens up about dealing with mental health: Don’t ignore the signs and symptoms

Deepika Padukone is one of the most loved actresses of Bollywood. Deepika recently attended an event in the city. The actress looked beyond beautiful in a black shimmery saree. She teamed up her saree with a full-sleeved blouse and earrings. The actress’ makeup was on point. Deepika was the chief guest of an event organised by Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Counsil, in association with the World Gold Council. At the event, Deepika spoke about mental health and how to deal with it.

The actress said, “If you feel a feeling of low or sadness, it is recommended that you see a psychiatrist or atleast see a counsellor. My theory is always I’ll rather be overcautious than not. It’s the same way, you know, when you have a stomach bug or you want to see a general practitioner. You can always see a general practitioners that’s one of the things we can do with the capacity building for our country because we do not have enough mental health professionals to serve 1.3-1.4 billion people. So one of the things we do is capacity building by educating general practitioners.”

Deepika added, “So I’d say don’t ignore the signs and symptoms. Don’t ignore when someone’s telling you that they’re feeling low or not feeling ok. Don’t sort of brush it off by saying it’s just a one off.”

On the other hand, a couple of days ago, Deepika and Ranveer Singh walked the ramp in ace designer Manish Malhotra’s outfits. The actress had shared a video on Instagram giving fans a glimpse into the show.

On the work front, Deepika has interesting projects in the pipeline. The actress will be seen in Pathaan with Shah Rukh Khan. She also has Project K with Amitabh Bachchan, Prabhas and Disha Patani. Apart from this, Deepika also has The Intern with Amitabh Bachchan. The actress will also be seen in Fighter with Hrithik Roshan.
