Deepika Padukone on pregnancy rumours: “It will happen when it has to happen”

There were several reports of actress Deepika Padukone being pregnant with her first child, but the actress recently rubbished all the rumours.

Deepika Padukone married the love of her life and longtime boyfriend, Ranveer Singh in November 2018 in a lavish wedding ceremony in Italy. Their ceremony was followed by numerous receptions in the country. Now that it has been five months to their marriage, the reports of the actress expecting a baby started to make rounds.

However, Deepika has now rubbished all pregnancy rumours in an interview to express.co.uk. The ‘Piku’ actress said that it will happen when it has to happen. She further stated that it is unfair to put women and couples through all that pressure.

Deepika also said that if people stop asking women such questions about pregnancy and motherhood, it is then that we all will bring change.

On the movies front, Deepika will next be seen in ‘Chhapaak’, which is currently being shot in the capital. Directed by Meghna Gulzar, the film also features Vikrant Massey in the male lead. The movie is based on the life of acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal and Deepika’s look as Laxmi has already been garnering praises from all over.

‘Chhapaak’ is slated to release on January 2020.
