Remembering Irrfan Khan, Deepika Padukone shares a heartfelt song from ‘Piku’; says, “RIP my dear friend”

The nation woke up on 29 April to the unfortunate news of Irrfan Khan‘s sudden demise. His acting chops were widely applauded and the entire world is mourning his death as they lost a legendary actor. Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone also remembered the actor in an emotional post that she dedicated to her ‘Piku’ co-star.

Deepika took to her Instagram to share a BTS shot from her time with Irrfan while filming ‘Piku’. The caption was rather heart-melting as the actress quoted the lyrics of the song ‘Lamhe Guzar Gaye’, it read, “लम्हे गुज़र गये चेहरे बदल गये हम थे अंजानी राहो में पल में रुला दिया पल में हसा के फिर रह गये हम जी राहो में थोड़ा सा पानी है रंग है थोड़ी सी छावो है चुभती है आँखो में धूप ये खुली दिशाओ में और दर्द भी मीठा लगे सब फ़ासले ये कम हुए ख्वाबो से रस्ते सजाने तो दो यादो को दिल में बसाने तो दो (sic).”

Deepika ended the post with, “Rest in Peace my Dear Friend…?”

On 28 April, the actor had been admitted in Mumbai’s Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani hospital with a colon infection. He passed away the next day. The actor has been ailing ever since he was diagnosed with a neuroendocrine tumour two years back.
