Has Deepika Padukone returned the signing amount of Vishal Bhardwaj’s ‘Sapna Didi’?

Everybody loved Deepika Padukone and Irrfan Khan‘s unusual pairing in Shoojit Sircar’s comedy-drama ‘Piku’. So when it was announced that they might come together again for filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj’s film reportedly titled ‘Sapna Didi’, our happiness knew no bounds.

Unfortunately owing to Irrfan Khan‘s ill-health the project was kept on hold. Irrfan is currently undergoing treatment for his Neuroendocrine Tumor in London. The makers of the film had said in the past that they will start the project once Irrfan is fully recovered. However looks like the film might get delayed indefinitely.

A recent report in DNA suggests that Deepika has apparently returned the signing amount of the film to director Vishal Bhardwaj as he has no clarity as to when the film will go on floors. Reportedly, Deepika was supposed to play gangster Sapna Didi in Vishal’s film. Ashraf Khan, popularly known as Sapna Didi, who was a feared name in the underworld was one fierce woman who had the guts to attempt to execute underworld don Dawood Ibrahim.

However, the same report even states that apparently, Deepika has told Bhardwaj that she would love to collaborate with him as soon as Irrfan is completely recovered.

Responding to the treatment, Irrfan Khan is doing really well and will honour his commitments as soon as he is back. So let’s hope that Irrfan gets well soon so that we get to watch him on the silver screen at the earliest.
