Deepika Padukone recently delivered a terrific performance in Siddharth Anand’s Pathaan. Deepika Padukone starred opposite Shah Rukh Khan and John Abraham. Since Pathaan’s release, Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone starrer has been doing great in numbers at the box office. The movie has already collected Rs 1000 crore globally. Now, in a recent interview, Deepika opened up about the film’s success.

Deepika reveals why she wanted Pathaan to succeed

The actress said that she wanted Pathaan to succeed for Shah Rukh Khan and his family. Deepika also revealed what she told King Khan and Gauri Khan after Pathaan’s smashing box office success. Speaking with India Today, Deepika said, “Everyone came from the same place of wanting this man, who is a part of our pop culture, to succeed. But for me, it is also my personal relationship with him that wants the best for him. I wanted the film to do well for him professionally as well as for his family.”

The actress added, “For a film to succeed, your intention needs to be pure. Deep down, we wished and prayed that it did well. There’s no logic to this. As I was telling Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri (his wife), these are love and blessings that are coming back.”

With Pathaan, Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika reunited onscreen for the fourth time. The actors were earlier seen together in Om Shanti Om, Happy New Year, and Chennai Express. The duo’s chemistry onscreen always impresses fans. And this time, the duo once again made fans fall in love with them.

Deepika will be next seen in Project K with Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan and Disha Patani. The actress also has The Intern remake with Big B and Fighter with Hrithik Roshan.

On the other hand, Shah Rukh Khan will be seen in Atlee’s Jawan. The actor also has Rajkumar Hirani’s Dunki in the pipeline. Fans are beyond excited for the upcoming projects as it’s the first time King Khan has collaborated with the filmmakers. King Khan had earlier said that he’s confident about Jawan and Dunki.
