Deepika Padukone to start shooting for ‘Padmavati’ with a dance sequence

It has been a while since the news of Sanjay Leela Bhansali kickstarting the shoot of his magnum opus, ‘Padmavati’ hit headlines and people have been eagerly waiting for the next development on the project.  So here it is.

‘Padmavati’ starring Ranveer Singh, Shahid Kapoor and Deepika Padukone will start its shooting schedule with a dance number. A source says, “Deepika has already done a look test for the film and Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor will be doing the same in the couple of days, separately. Both have been growing their beards and hair to play their respective characters –Shahid as Rajput king Raja Ratan Singh of Chittor and Ranveer as the Sultan of Delhi, Alauddin Khilji. The dance sequence will be shot on a set constructed at Mehboob Studios. Shahid and Ranveer are not needed next week as they are not part of the song.”

Reportedly, Deepika will be performing a traditional Rajasthani dance form, ‘ghoomar’. The filmmaker has recreated Padmavati’s Water Palace from the Chittorgarh fort to shoot the dance sequence.

And while we are already aware of the aesthetics in SLB’s films, we are sure this one is going to be equally amazing.
