Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut finds a way to remain in the news, doesn’t she? The ‘Manikarnika’ actress has a fiery attitude and believes in calling a spade a spade. Now, according to reports, Deepika Padukone could be replacing Kangana in Anurag Basu’s next project ‘Imali’.
Kangana Ranaut has worked with Anurag Basu in the past in films like ‘Gangster’ and ‘Life In A… Metro’. As per the report in Bollywood Hungama, the makers of ‘Imali’ have approached Bollywood diva Deepika Padukone to replace Kangana in the film. A source told the entertainment portal that there have been positive talks between Anurag Basu and Deepika Padukone. And Deepika could start working for the project after she wraps up the shoot of ‘Chhapaak’.
A source quoted by the website said, “Kangana Ranaut had walked out of filmmaker Anurag Basu’s forthcoming movie ‘Imali’ citing difference in opinion. As the two of them couldn’t reunite after ‘Gangster’ and ‘Life In A Metro’, the filmmaker has now approached Deepika Padukone to play the lead role in the film. As Deepika is busy with ‘Chhapaak’, the conversations between the filmmaker and the actress have been more than positive.”
Anurag Basu had earlier talked about Kangana Ranaut’s involvement in the project and said, “She didn’t opt. We were supposed to start the film last November. But then ‘Manikarnika”s schedule got changed. Then I got busy with my current film, and then she got busy with ‘Panga’. It started a never-ending dynamo of confusion on dates. But we are destined to work together again. I’m sure it will happen sooner or later.”
It would be quite interesting if Deepika does replace Kangana in ‘Imali’. As both divas allegedly don’t get along well and are very competitive. Meanwhile, Kangana Ranaut was last seen in ‘Manikarnika’ and has two projects in ‘Mental Hai Kya’ and ‘Panga’ lined up for release shortly.
